FLUX Exhibition at The Royal College of Art Kensington

FLUX Exhibition is the new and exciting event of international contemporary art and performance.  FLUX launched in February 2015 and quickly became established as the event to be at.  Over 70 artists exhibited throughout two rooms at the 5 day event in East London.  FLUX incorporated  live painting , installation and performance to ensure the event was a truly inspirational occasion.  The private evening has been described as ‘the best opening night in a decade’  The atmosphere was electric and FLUX buzzed with the enthusiasm of artists and art lovers.

FLUX aims to bridge the gap between artists and buyers, bringing contemporary art to a wider audience and actively seeking collaborations, commissions and fantastic venues for exhibitions.

The Exhibition is open 11th -14th December Midday until 8pm

Africa Live Festival

Join AMD Networks as we bring a little bit of Africa to the Elephant & The Nun, Saturday 15th August 2015, 12pm – 8pm, Burgess Park, London SE15 6QT.

As a unique contribution to the event The Africa Live team will participate as the sole provider for African influenced bespoke goods, arts and crafts, fashion, holistic therapies, live music and cuisine.

The day will be filled with fun activities, live music and the creative arts, The Africa Live Festival offers the public an exclusive opportunity to experience African culture through music, cuisine and bespoke African influenced goods in our African Market.

It will be a great day out and entry is free

Qcumber Presents: Classics on the Canal

Enjoy a literary taste sensation at a four week pop-up along the Grand Union Canal. Inspired by classic works of English literature, join Qcumber on a canal-boat-come-cocktail-bar, as we serve a selection of concoctions inspired by literary greats.

The long, warm, hazy evenings of midsummer are the perfect time to enjoy a post-work tipple or two. Qcumber, the quintessentially English soft drink that encapsulates the taste of summer, brings after hours cocktails with a difference in London from July to August.

 

The three hour round trip kicks off at 6.30pm with a Qcumber and gin tasting, where you’ll be talked through the delicate tasting notes, before being whisked through a menu of specially crafted cocktails and modern twists on the humble cucumber sandwich. While enjoying a touch of the idyllic British summertime floating down the canal, you’ll set course from Paddington to explore the sights and houseboats of Little Venice, then East along the Regent’s Canal, a quick stop through London Zoo and onto Camden Lock, before heading back to Paddington.

It’s back! London’s only 1950s fair, the Mid Century Market returns this autumn to Cecil Sharp House. So what are you waiting for? Put your glad rags on for a day out with friends and spend the day shopping and socializing in a perfectly vintage atmosphere.

Runner up in the best vintage fair category for the London Vintage Awards after just three events, the Mid Century Market is trendsetting and retro forward and has built a strong reputation for selling the highest quality vintage from the mid century period which includes exquisite clothing, handy home ware and unique jewellery as well as showcasing the UK’s best clothing brands inspired by this atomic era. So whether your aim is to find the rarest rockabilly record out there, you have your eye on a pair of retro high waisted jeans from the Lady K Loves clothing stand or want a quirky brooch to add to your outfit, the Mid Century Market has it all to help you take a step back in time.

Whilst Dj’s play those classic rock n roll tracks from the 1950s, why not visit our onsite vintage hair salon and barber, where you can get your hair cut and styled by one of the UK’s most popular stylist’s; The Vanity Box who has over 10 years experience in the vintage hair. So whether you’re either Marilyn or Elvis, you will look every inch a 50s icon by the time you walk out the door.  Throughout the afternoon there will also be live music from Manchester lass Becki Fishwick performing renowned hits from singers such as Etta James, Imelda May and many more rockabilly ladies to keep you shoppers entertained.

Held at the iconic venue that is Cecil Sharp House, situated in the bustling fashion focused shopping area of Camden town, doors will open at 11am to take you to back to the beautiful era of the 1950s. With big plans for the Mid Century Market, it continues to grow in size and popularity with fashion followers and rockabilly lover’s alike travelling from the ends of the UK to grab a bargain from our stall holders who are as passionate about the glamour of the Hollywood bygone era as the shopper buying from them. So put it in the diary, write out your shopping list and come down for an afternoon of 1950s fun.

Camden Market’s Summer Night Markets

Taking residence in the picturesque canal side locations of the West and Middle Yards of this world famous market, stalls, bars and stages will be decked out imposing light boxes and colourful decorations, bringing the market to life long past its usual bedtime.

 

Each Thursday will be themed so the music, food and entertainment all complement each other perfectly. Contemporary Street Art, World Music, Reggae and Carnival vibes will all play a part over the 6 weeks and in August on the World Music evening there will be tunes from DJ Wormfood alongside live music from one of Camden Market’s favourite bands the Turbans supported by the sounds of The Live African Drummers and their dancers.

Sponsor Me Awards 2015

Come and join us for Sponsor Me Awards 2015 taking place at the renowned Blackheath Halls London on Wednesday 07/10/2015 and host by the Gorgeous Charley Uchea.


The event will celebrate emerging and independent fashion designers of whom collections fall under one of the following categories; Urban, Retro, Classic and Couture. In true Sponsor Me style the show will also feature various exhibitors, live performances, a celebrity host and an esteemed judging panel.


Some exciting prizes can also be won on the evening in a raffle draw to raise  money for our preferred charity Centrepoint. At our last show 1 lucky winner walked away with 2 flight tickets to spain.
